Thanksgiving is just around the corner and the Yoga Journal Conference team is incredibly grateful for our sangha of dedicated yogis, the practice which connects and supports us, and our ability to share it.

Inspired by the act of paying it forward, we've added an additional Monday All-Day Intensive to the Yoga Journal Conference: San Francisco program. The Yoga of Leadership class, instructed by Seane Corn, Suzanne Sterling and Hala Khouri, will explore what happens when you combine yoga with leadership to motivate positive change. Fifty percent of the proceeds of this workshop will be donated to Off the Mat, Into the World.

This is the best way to catapult your practice into the New Year with 40+ master instructors in 100+ classes. Don't miss Krishna Das live in concert and our free special events including discussions, panels, meditations, community events and more!

Special Highlight - Yoga Journal Scholarship Program

For every conference, Yoga Journal offers a scholarship program: Share Your Yoga. Scholarships are intended to support the participation of low-income Yoga teachers who are active in contributing their unique teaching abilities to the truly underserved.

Kali Alexander, owner of Lotus on the Nile, was one of our scholarship winners from the 2011 San Francisco Conference. Kali teaches yoga in South Los Angeles, North Long Beach, and East Los Angeles. Many of her students are first generation Latino-American and African-American. Part of the beauty of her experience teaching these communities is that she's "able to connect with my students on a cultural level that then creates a bridge to demystifying this ancient practice and making it approachable to communities that otherwise would not have access."

What is Kali grateful for? "I am thankful for this practice that I have…I am thankful that this practice has nurtured me...helped me in my high and low times… it's my sanity."

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving from the conference team!
