Although they had known each other for several years through the Anusara community, it was at the 2006 Yoga Journal San Francisco Conference that they fell in love.
According to Desiree, she had no ulterior motive and was unware he was now single, she asked him to assist her at the conference. At the time, Andrew was living in Berkeley and practicing occasionally with their mutual friend, Sianna Sherman. And as friends do, Andrew casually mentioned to Sianna that he was interested in her. Then, just like two school girls, at the conference presenter's dinner Sianna teased Desiree saying, "guess who likes you?" Realizing it was Andrew, Desiree asked what she should do with that information. The answer, "I don't know, flirt!!" And as they say, the rest is history.... They were married January 1, 2011 and will forever mark their anniversary with the San Francisco Conference. Do you have a conference connection you'd like to share?
